Munich/Chemnitz, August 13, 2026 – Flix, Europe’s leading travel-tech company, is the Travel Partner of KOSMOS Festival 2026 in Chemnitz, supporting one of Germany’s largest events for democracy, diversity and civic engagement. Attendees can benefit from a 20% discount on all direct FlixBus connections from Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic to Chemnitz and back. Vouchers are available via a dedicated campaign page.

The free KOSMOS Festival will take place on August 29th, 2026, bringing together music, art, sports and civil society initiatives to create a unique space for connection and exchange. KOSMOS became one of Germany’s largest festivals for democracy, attracting more than 100.000 visitors last year. The 2026 program includes musical acts such as OK KID, Alexander Marcus, Mariybu and SALÒ, as well as prominent voices from society and activism, including Luisa Neubauer and Arne Semsrott.

Thanks to FlixBus, getting to and from the festival is particularly convenient and affordable: numerous cities in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic are connected directly to Chemnitz, without the need to change buses. By choosing long-distance buses and leaving their cars at home, attendees can also reduce their individual carbon footprint.

Daily direct connections to Chemnitz are available from, among others:

  • Dresden: up to 12 connections in each direction, from 1 hour
  • Jena: up to 3 connections in each direction, from 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Erfurt: up to 4 connections in each direction, from 2 hours
  • Prague: up to 6 connections in each direction, from 2 hours 55 minutes
  • Nuremberg: up to 3 connections in each direction, from 3 hours
  • Berlin: up to 3 connections in each direction, from 3 hours 15 minutes
  • Wrocław: up to 6 connections in each direction, from 5 hours
  • Munich: up to 3 connections in each direction, from 5 hours 10 minutes
  • Warsaw: up to 4 connections in each direction, from 9 hours 30 minutes

“Democracy thrives on openness, diversity and the exchange of different perspectives. KOSMOS creates a space where all of this can be experienced. At Flix, we want to use our reach and visibility to highlight and strengthen fundamental democratic values”, says Daniel Krauss, CIO and Co-Founder of Flix.

Democracy on Board

Flix will also be present at the festival itself. One of the iconic green FlixBuses will be presented in a special design created in collaboration with the Schwarz-Rot-Bunt Foundation, highlighting the values of diversity, respect and inclusion.

Visitors will also be invited to take part in an interactive activation centered around democratic values: those who answer questions about democracy, diversity and civic engagement can win discount vouchers, exclusive merchandise and free rides.

Further information about the festival and the voucher campaign is available on the KOSMOS website.
