New Executive Board, New CFO
CEO André Schwämmlein and CIO Daniel Krauss will form the future Executive Board together with Christoph Debus, who will be the company’s new CFO starting at the beginning of March 2022.
André Schwämmlein will lead the business units FlixBus and FlixTrain, the commercial functions as well as communication, government relations and sustainability.
As CIO, Daniel Krauss will be responsible for the areas of Technology and People Management.
In addition, Christoph Debus will take over the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the beginning of March 2022. In this position, he will be responsible for all financial and legal functions of the company. Christoph Debus is an expert in the mobility industry and has held numerous interdisciplinary executive positions in the capital market that go beyond the classic CFO role.
He was previously CEO of Thomas Cook Group Airlines and most recently CFO at Condor, where he successfully repositioned the company. He succeeds Christian Rummel, who has left FlixMobility. FlixMobility thanks Christian Rummel for the good cooperation and wishes him all the best for the future.
“With Christoph Debus, we were able to win an outstanding industry expert for us and are very excited to work with him in the future,” says André Schwämmlein.
“After years of experience in traditional aviation companies, I am excited to not only focus on road and rail, but also to help shape the future of such a visionary, sustainable and emerging company as FlixMobility,” adds Christoph Debus.
New Supervisory Board
Jochen Engert, who founded the company together with André Schwämmlein and Daniel Krauss and led it as co-CEO, moves to the supervisory board as of April 1st as FlixMobility finalizes the GmbH’s change of legal form to an SE. The chairman of the supervisory board is Achim Berg.
“It makes me very proud to know that the company is still very well positioned and on a forward-looking path more than ten years after its foundation and despite the pandemic. The new structure will help FlixMobility shape the future of mobility,” says Jochen Engert. “In future, I would like to contribute my experience as founder and CEO via the supervisory board and ensure that Flix remains true to its roots and that we continue to make the right strategic decisions.”
