Kâmil Koç, a Flix brand, marks 100 years of intercity bus travel in Türkiye
Kâmil Koç, the Turkish intercity bus brand that became part of Flix SE in 2019, marks its 100th anniversary in 2026, a century after it began operating in 1926. The company carries around 11 million passengers a year across 76 cities and 300 destinations with a fleet of about 700 buses, making it one of the oldest brands in Flix’s portfolio and the anchor of the group’s presence in Türkiye.
A century of intercity travel in Türkiye
Founded in 1926 and the oldest Turkish intercity bus company still in operation, Kâmil Koç grew into one of the country’s leading bus operators. It joined Flix SE in 2019, combining its Turkish network and operations with Flix’s booking technology and international reach — joining a group that itself was only founded in Munich in 2011, nearly 90 years after Kâmil Koç first put buses on the road. Kâmil Koç now sits alongside FlixBus, FlixTrain, and Greyhound in a Flix network that spans more than 8,700 destinations across 45 countries and has carried over 500 million passengers since launch.
“Over the past hundred years, accompanying millions of passengers across every corner of our country and beyond our borders represents a responsibility far greater than commercial success,” said Çağatay Kepek, General Manager of Kâmil Koç.

Anniversary activities across Türkiye
Kâmil Koç is marking the centenary throughout 2026 under the slogan Your Travel Companion for 100 Years, with campaigns running across Türkiye and events tied to the UEFA Europa League final in Istanbul through Flix’s global partnership with UEFA.
“Since joining Flix in 2019, Kâmil Koç has combined a century of expertise with Flix’s technology and international network. As it begins its next hundred years, we look forward to continuing the journey together and strengthening connections across Türkiye and beyond,” said André Schwämmlein, co-founder and CEO of Flix.
