Love unites us: Diversity at FlixMobility - Why diversity is an urgent and essential issue

Diversity is an urgent issue in our society. Daniel Krauss, founder and CIO of FlixMobility, explains how diversity can benefit everyone: the company, staff, partners and travellers.

How does diversity matter to FlixMobility?

For FlixMobility, diversity means diversity in the literal sense of the word. It is natural for us to create and maintain an environment that is open to all and where everyone feels welcome. Every single person deserves the utmost attention. Diversity, inclusion, charity and humanity are central and essential for us as a society to tackle our greatest challenges together.

How does this impact our recruiting and HR efforts?

In our recruiting processes, we strive to attract the best professionals worldwide, regardless of race, nationality, gender or religious beliefs. In order to maintain a culture of empathy and diversity in our hiring processes, FlixMobility’s HR managers receive regular training and support. Furthermore, we have always had a strong female community to support young women in leadership positions.

What steps is FlixMobility taking to improve its diversity?

We participate in a variety of events such as International Women’s Day, Pride Month and the Love Unites Us campaign hosted by our partner Salesforce. Recently we held a series of debiasing workshops that gave participants a platform to discuss unconscious bias. Currently, together with experts from PROUT AT WORK, we are hosting virtual workshops for all international FlixMobility teams to discuss LGBT*IQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer) issues within the workplace. As a global company, we want to be as diverse as our customers, who, following our vision, include simply ‘everyone’.
