Updated Statement regarding the accident in Germany near Leipzig on March 27th (As of: 28th March)

Flix regrets to confirm that a long-distance bus traveling on behalf of FlixBus was involved in an accident on its way from Berlin to Zurich. The accident occurred on March 27, at around 10 a.m. near the Wiedemar junction and the Schkeuditzer Kreuz interchange on the A9. There were 53 passengers and 2 drivers on board. At the time of writing, we know of over 40 people injured and four deceased. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this terrible accident and their families.

 

Our full focus remains on providing support to all passengers. We have set up a hotline for passengers and their families to answer any questions they may have. We are also available to provide support for uninjured passengers.

 

The safety of our passengers and drivers is Flix’s top priority at all times. We are of course continuing to work closely with the local authorities and will do everything in our power to clarify the cause of the accident quickly and completely. The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known. We will publish further information as soon as it becomes available.
